New member from New Mexico

Postby Deputy » Wed Sep 17, 2014 11:12 am

I know...too many "News" in one topic. I am a new member but an old geezer (Age 65) that remembers the Hilborn stacks poking out from hoods from back in the 60s-70s very well. Finally getting the chance to try it out now that I am retired. I have a 1972 Vette and plan on a small block with Hilborn mechanical injection and a Vertex mag for drag racing-only. I am not real "up" on either item so I will definitely be asking for help on them. I have raced hot rods in the past, including a 1969 Mustang GT and a 1970 Dodge Super Bee. So I am not totally clueless. :D
From looking at some of the posts it looks like a great bunch of fellas. Looking forward to posting here.

P.S. Just bought Jim's manual today too. It will be my bible, I am sure. :)

Nothing like an injected 327 and a Muncie 4 spd! Especially in a cool 'vette like the one (or anyone for that matter) you have.

"Back in the day" there was a red and a blue '60 or so that would romp and stomp there way from red light to red light collecting $5-$10 bucks a pop.

Welcome aboard Mr. Deputy, Your '72 Vette is one of my favorite sharks! It has the "clean looking" nose and the classic rear, without the big ugly back window. Contrary to some peoples beliefs, those cars haul the mail with the right adjustments /combination. Looking forward to hear / read about your progress!
