New here!

Postby thijssie66 » Wed Aug 24, 2016 7:18 am

Hi guys,

My name is Mathijs and I'm from the Netherlands. I'm 29 years old and been racing my altered for 10 years. Raced it with a carburated 400sbc on methanol successfully for years. switched to mfi 3 years ago to learn the art of tuning it! Had some trouble with it and never really went as fast as with the carburator. (Too big injector and bad flowing pump)
Got the chance to sell that engine and start over and go blown alky!
I just finished building that new engine.
Bowtie block, 4.155 X 3.500 howards crank, R&R aluminum rods, 11-1 CP pistons. AFR 210 heads, 6/71 mooneyham, Enderle birdcather.
I can use some help so i ordered the fuel injection manual from jim to help me with a set up for this combo.

I have been browsing this forum and found a lot of cool info! Great to see so many guys with so much knowledge in one place.

Thanks,
Mathijs

G'day and welcome aboard.

Cool car.

Ask questions. We love that stuff.
Have fun,

We all started racing because it was fun. Never forget that.

Thanks guys!

Fastest it has been is 8.54 @ 151mph. Shifting @ 7800rpm. But it would mostly run 8.60's and be very consistent, really easy car to race! Now let's change that by putting a blower on it :?

I can't wait to start the new engine and hear it run. Couple of things do tho..

Only thing I would say is you put a blower on it, make sure you have enough restriction to the oil going to the top end. Put a blower on it and things change real quick :)
