So, any of you CA HRE-ers stocking up on guns, ammo, and mags before 12/31? Sounds like a good time to stock up on 80% receivers.

How does all of the new laws affect reloaders?

I mostly have old cowboy stuff but...Mags over 10 rounds will be illegal to possess in 2018, I believe you can disassemble them and have "magazine parts" and then don't take them out in public. Fyi a 10 round 50 Beowulf mag is a 30 rd 223 mag.
As far as the guns go, if you make them "featureless" you can have a regular mag release and you don't have to register it as an assault weapon, but your gun looks goofy. Or you just have to buy the new california mag release which requires pulling the rear pin from the lower and swinging the upper forward so you can load from the top.
It appears that if you register your AW that you can no longer sell it in state and it dies with you, your family must surrender it.

Buying ammo means passing a one time background check and showing a card every time you need it.

I haven't heard of any reloading restrictions besides the constant of unavailable components. I haven't seen varget since Obama took office. Man he sure made the gun mfgr's a lot of money.

I will say this. NEW YORK passed a similar law called the "SAFE ACT". Our imbecile governor Liberal Crook Cuomo railed on about how "You don't need 10 rounds to kill a deer" as if the only people who had firearms in NEW YORK were hunting.. Forget about the predators in our cities, counties and rural areas... Sorry Andy Boy, I don't fancy coming up against Mokoko Ngombo in a dark alley or a well lit parking lot or coming through my front door with Rufus and Remus. Those 17 round Desert Eagle mags work really well with only 7 rounds in them.. Of course having to keep 4 of them on hand makes that speed reloading a bit of a chore, but If I have to put 17 rounds downrange to stop the attack, I guess I'll just have to practice dropping those mags on the ground...

I would also concentrate more on ammunition.. No ammo, no gun... Build a safe storage area and keep your mouth shut...

Yep, I keep telling my friends "A gun without ammo is just an expensive club"!

By cheap, stack deep.

I only buy a box or two at a time.

All boxes have 1,000 rounds, right?
