NEW ZEALAND TSUNAMI

Postby admin » Mon Nov 14, 2016 11:50 am

I"m really a bit concerned about our New Zealand Members. I am reading about the Tsunami that hit Christchurch and surrounding areas and from the photos, it was pretty devastating. As you know we have a couple of members from the Kiwi Land and I have not heard from any of them. If anyone has any info, please let us know.
I worry about all of you guys...

I've just been sent home from work as a lot of local roads are closed with flooding from all the rain.
Everyone I know seem to be safe and well.

We live in Porirua which is just north of Wellington. The quake was the biggest and scariest I've ever felt.
From what I've heard the tsunami was pretty localized and most of the damage was quake related.

Wellington has had a couple of relatively new buildings on the waterfront heavily damaged ????
The building code should have made them stronger than most of the older buildings.

The poor South Islanders have taken a real beating again.

Here is a link to a local news site for some pics http://www.stuff.co.nz/
