All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So we know that Racing isn't a "HOBBY" with anyone here. So in your "off time" what do you do to unwind? Fish, Ride Motorcycles, Bowling, Paint? Let's hear about your favorite thing to do when you don't have to do anything else.

T’d off

Postby pdog » Mon Mar 05, 2018 5:56 pm

For those hooligans who have been around for many years this is an update on the little car I started about 9 years ago then put on ignore because life and other peoples work got me side tracked, you know.

T'd off! Is my personal crusade against what "street rods" have become with all their spendy paint and polish, lower the car to where it's useless and look what I bought BS!!!
Doesn't anyone build a car now that they can buy all the kwap they need and get neighbor Fred to help read the instructions and turn the bolts?

Sure I was a machinist for 45 years but there are very few machines in the stone age fabricatorium, most of what I do is done with a 4" angle grinder and a whole lot of hand finishing.
Our very own Hacksaw Harvey was kind enough to bail me out on some things an angle grinder just can not do THANK YOU Mister Hacksaw Sir!
I recently acquired a small hobby lathe from a hooligan and brother with a heart as big as all outdoors, you know who you are and I DO THANK YOU most sincerely.

Photos coming to a theater near you soon

Carry on, I will too,,,

I'm with you on the street rod scene these days. Pretty sad. The current race car scene is getting more like that all the time. God bless you and yer angle grinder for sticking with the grass roots of it all! Hey, I've got an extra Newspaper box hood scoop I could send ya! :D

Thanque Clay but this little what ever you want to call it won’t have a hood, or fenders or anything else it doesn’t need to go, stop, or turn...

For anyone who remembers the long ago pix I posted forget that and see what a terror object I’ve created for myself now!
Of course everything had to be changed to add this little 6/53 blower but that all part of the fun, I suppose it’s all fun

If you start with a piece of billet and grind it to shape, is it still billet?

It usually is, sometimes it’s a bad idea or recycle

For those of you who haven’t had an opportunity to see any of P-Dogs work up close (and pictures don’t do it justice) he is truly an amazing fabricator.

He can built more awesome chit using minimal tools than guys I know with a million dollars invested in their shop & tools and with a sign out front Open For Business.

I was, and still am, blown away when I look at the Big Car chassis. My challenge is to finish the car out to match the chassis work.
